A collection of short design sprints focusing on novel ideas, renderings skill building and a quick execution of form and function.

Direct Delivery Auto Injector

Auto-injectors tend to be confusing to set up, difficult to properly dose and intimidating for younger users. The Direct Delivery System is a concept designed to make dosing and self administration easier and less threatening for kids and teens by allowing the user to set consistent doses and clearly see how much drug is being delivered.

The Direct Delivery System is simple and intuitive to use by people of all ages. After inserting the drug cartridge, the user attaches a standard BD needle followed by the soft silicone guard. A max dose is set by popping up the knob and twisting to the prescribed amount. The dose is drawn by turning the knob until it reaches the max volume, at which point it will lock in place. The user depresses the silicone needle guard at the injection site and inserts the needle into the skin. By pressing and holding the large button, display will show the volume depleting over a period of 10 seconds until empty, ensuring the proper dose has been administered.

Rethinking pepper spray for the everyday carry. Disguised as a harmless accessory, this tool packs a punch as both a kubaton and pepper spray sprayer. Grasping in your fist with your thumb on the button gives you quick access to the pepper spray in a prime defensive position while allowing you to strike your assailant with the blunt tip.
