IFU for formative user testing
I worked on an existing ventilator device that needs routine maintenance every 6-9 months to replace an O2 concentrator, requiring patients to send in their device for 1-2 weeks, forcing them to use other methods of ventilation. We converted the device to both reconfigure the replaceable component into a user friendly shape and provided direct access for the patient to replace the component themselves bringing the maintenance time down to less than 5 minutes. We constructed two variations on the functional model and tested them with 12 users performing for formative and summative testing. To create this IFU, I used keyshot, illustrator and photoshop with the goal for the instruction to be void of text instructions.
TourniTek Use Case Scenarios
TourniTek is the first pre-hospital treatment for limb-threatening injuries. Using therapeutic cooling, TourniTek preserves injured limbs in the field until patients can be transported to a trauma center. By treating these injuries prior to surgical care, TourniTek can prevent amputation and permanent disability.
The storyboards below were built as a way to visualize potential use cases compared against the existing convention.
